From time to time some technically minded people enquire as to what software and case management system we use in O'Hanlon & O'Dowd:
Where possible we run only Open Source software. It is very reliable, saves us money and allows us to be more competitive. Our primary server is a Dell Poweredge R300 running Ubuntu Linux. All Legal documents are stored and versioned with Alfresco CMS, while critical dates, our calandar and client databases are managed by a version of SugarCRM 5.2 adapted in-house. All this information can then be readily called from the MySQL database and used to assemble documents with Openoffice, which is our main productivity suite. Our email and calandaring client is Mozilla Thunderbird with Sunbird.
So when we talk to clients about Open Source, we know exactly what we are talking about!
