The Friends of the Rebel Army Society (FORAS) have announced the purchase of the assets, intellectual property and underage football structures associated with Cork City Investment FC Ltd. The Society, which is currently competing in the League of Ireland under the name Cork City FORAS Co-Op had previously attempted to purchase Cork City FC from Tom Coughlan as a going concern, however this ultimately proved impossible and Judge Laffoy made an order to wind up the company.

FORAS is a not-for-profit company which was established over 3 years ago as a supporters organisation. Following its inability to save Cork City Investment FC Ltd, the FAI granted the supporters organisation a licence to play 1st Division Football. The purchase of the assets and underage structures will guarantee the future and the legacy of League of Ireland football in Cork.

As well as advising on the above transaction, O'Hanlon & O'Dowd Solicitors advised the Friends of the Rebel Army Society on all aspects of the establishment and running of the club including licensing, sponsorship and commercial agreements.
